Our Application Process — Step by Step
Day 1 — Substrate Preparation
The entire concrete roof and target wall surfaces were cleaned. Loose material, dust, and old paint remnants were removed. Any visible cracks were inspected and treated with polyurethane sealant to bridge them before coating. Any surface contamination that could compromise adhesion — oil, algae, moss — was neutralised. The substrate was allowed to fully surface-dry.
Day 2 — First Coat Application (Roof)
The first coat of single-component polyurethane liquid membrane was applied across the entire concrete roof surface using rollers, with brushes reserved for corners, penetrations, and edge details. Application worked in a single direction across the roof to ensure uniform thickness. All parapet upstands, drainage outlets, and pipe penetrations received extra attention.
Day 2 — Cure Window
The first coat was allowed to cure for the required 4–6 hours in Ghana's warm ambient conditions. During this time, wall surfaces were prepared in parallel.
Day 3 — Second Coat + Wall Waterproofing
The second coat of polyurethane liquid membrane was applied to the roof, this time in a perpendicular direction to the first coat. This crossing pattern creates a seamless membrane with zero pinholes — catching every micro-defect the first coat might have missed.
Simultaneously, the wall waterproofing was applied with the same 2-coat crossing technique, ensuring continuous membrane transition from wall to roof edge. This transition detail is where most waterproofing systems fail — we treated it as the most critical interface on the entire job.
Final Cure and Inspection
The full system was allowed to cure to a solid, seamless finish. On final inspection, the entire 370 m² surface was uniformly coated, seamless at all edges, and watertight.
