Not for the inside face of a basement wall or a sump pit. That is negative-side work, where water pressure lifts the film off the concrete — it needs a cementitious crystalline system.

Plan on 1 kg of coating per square metre.
That is the real figure from our own completed jobs, across two coats. A 5kg bucket does about 10 m² on one coat, 5 m² finished at two. One coat is not waterproofing — it pinholes and fails in the first heavy rains.

Why not the figure on the label? Manufacturer coverage assumes ideal conditions — smooth, sealed, non-absorbent concrete. Real Ghanaian roofs are rough, porous and often previously stripped. We publish what our jobs actually consume, because running out mid-roof is a failed job, not a saving.
Worked example — a 60 m² roof: about 60 kg, so 6 of the 10kg or 12 of the 5kg. Add 10–15% on old or bare slab. Measure the developed area — a flat plan misses every parapet upstand, commonly 15–20% of the real surface.

How to Apply
- Clean the surface — remove dust, loose paint and debris. It must be dry.
- Stop any active leaks first with Plugging King; allow 4–6 hours to cure.
- Seal joints and penetrations with Leak Seal Tape.
- Apply the first coat by brush or roller, working in one direction.
- Allow to dry — 2–4 hours depending on weather.
- Apply the second coat perpendicular to the first.
- Allow 24–48 hours to cure before water exposure.

Design life is not a warranty. The 20 years is how long the membrane is engineered to perform; the warranty is the period we return and fix it at our cost. Anyone advertising a "20-year warranty" on a liquid membrane is quoting design life under the wrong heading.
