Sand Fixing Agent binds loose sand, dust and powdery plaster into a firm, sealed surface. Use it as a primer before painting walls, to stop paint peeling off chalky plaster, and for dust control on compounds and sites. A ready-to-use acrylic polymer that penetrates 5-10 mm and cures solid. GHS 1,600 per 20 litre drum, covering 70-80 m².

As a wall primer — stop paint peeling

Most peeling paint in Ghana is good paint sitting on weak, powdery plaster. Rub the bare wall with your finger: if it leaves white or grey powder, this product fixes it.

1. Scrape off everything loose. New paint over loose paint fails with it.
2. Brush the wall down so it is firm, clean and dry.
3. Apply neat by roller or brush. Do not dilute.
4. Second coat on very porous walls once the first is dry to the touch.
5. Cure 20-24 hours, then paint.

Coverage

Very porous or loose surfaces use more. A 4 × 4 m room with 3 m walls has about 48 m² of wall.

How to apply

1. Prepare the surface. Sweep off loose debris. On walls, scrape off all loose and flaking paint. Firm and clean.
2. Check the weather. Not onto a wet surface, or if rain is expected within 24 hours.
3. Stir. Do not dilute. Apply neat, exactly as supplied.
4. Apply evenly by roller, brush or sprayer, keeping a wet edge.
5. Second coat once the first is dry to the touch, on porous surfaces.
6. Cure 20 - 24 hours before traffic or painting.

Technical data

What it will not do

It will not cure rising damp, and it will not keep paint on a wall that is wet — fix the water first. If the wall is wet at the base and dry higher up, call us before you buy.
